Get The Most Expensive Tidal Family Plan For Under 3 Dollars Per Month
The Tidal VPN trick that you need in your life, right now.
Tidal was founded by the rapper Jay-Z back in 2004, their main competitor at the time was Spotify. Since then, the music industry has evolved into the streaming era, where you no longer care to own the music you listen to.
Many companies are now fighting to be your next music provider, big names like Apple and Google both have their own streaming service.
Spotify used to be my go-to streaming service for a long time, I enjoyed a low monthly price because I was using a family subscription plan.
Until recently, Spotify decided to cancel my account along with my family members, citing that we'd have to re-apply with proof that we all lived under the same roof.
I decided to look for a new music streaming provider, that's when I found out that Tidal is a lot cheaper in different countries, more specifically Argentina.
Here's the trick
It’s very simple, you will need a VPN such as NordVPN, to use a server based in Argentina to fake your location and then to visit Tidal, sign up with an email account or use an existing account that doesn’t have an active subscription.
Choose from one of the plans that Tidal have to offer, such as the ‘HiFi’ plan for 138 Pesos which converts to around $2 or £2, this gives you what Tidal calls 'Master' quality audio.
This is essentially lossless audio, the kind that audiophiles live for. If you’re not too fussed about the high quality, you can opt for one of the ‘Premium’ plans which offer the same Music minus the 'Master' quality audio.
What is the difference between HiFi quality and Master quality?HiFi audio is a superior sound but is still limited in its resolution—44.1 kHz /16 bit. TIDAL has partnered with MQA to deliver something infinitely better: an authenticated and unbroken version (typically 96 kHz / 24 bit) with the highest possible resolution—as flawless as it sounded in the mastering suite. And exactly as the artist intended it to sound.
This video will run you through exactly what you need to do.
After you've signed up for the super cheap Tidal plan, you can turn off the VPN and play music to your heart's content. The only downside to this is that you keep getting recommendations for Latin music, but of course, if that's the music you're into, it's a win-win.
A while ago, Tidal teamed up with the popular media centre app Plex, to give PlexPass subscribers access to a discounted Tidal Subscription Plan.
The Plex, Team also allowed you to link your existing Tidal Subscription to your Plex Account. This means once you've successfully signed up to Tidal using the method above, you can enjoy your music collection within the Plex App.
