Google TV's New AI Features Turn Your Living Room into a Creative Hub

Google TV is getting a major glow-up, and it's not just about streaming anymore. The latest updates turn your big screen into a shared creative canvas, a smart photo gallery, and soon — your go-to spot for short-form video. Here's everything heading to your living room.

1. Generate Wild Images with Nano Banana

Ever wanted to see your dad in a ridiculous outfit, or transport your family photo to the streets of Tokyo? With Nano Banana, Google TV becomes a shared creative playground. Just speak your idea — like “Make my dad wear a flamboyant hat” — and watch Gemini bring it to life on the big screen. Find it under the Gemini tab, then select “Create.”

2. Animate Your Imagination with Veo

Veo takes things a step further by generating full video clips from scratch — or animating still images. Think: “Make my grandfather moonwalk in space.” It’s absurd, it’s delightful, and it’s perfect for group laughs. Also accessible from the Gemini tab under “Create.”

Nano Banana and Veo are launching first on Gemini-enabled TCL Google TVs in the U.S.

3. Search Google Photos with Your Voice

No more endless scrolling. Ask Gemini to find “photos from Sarah’s birthday party” or “our trip to Bali last summer,” and it’ll surface a browsable results page right on your TV. Tap to go full-screen or kick off a slideshow — effortless.

4. Remix Your Favourite Shots

Found the perfect photo? Give it an artistic spin with Google Photos Remix. Choose from styles like watercolour or oil painting to transform everyday snaps into something frame-worthy.

5. Dynamic Slideshows as Your Screensaver

When your TV isn’t in active use, it becomes a beautiful, ever-changing photo gallery. Turn any Google Photos album into a dynamic slideshow — complete with vibrant collages and colour effects. Set it up in Quick Settings > Screensaver > Google Photos.

Photo search and Remix are rolling out first on Gemini-enabled devices in the U.S. Dynamic slideshows go global on eligible Google TV devices with 2 GB+ RAM.

6. Short Videos Come to the Home Page

Short-form content is taking over, and Google TV is embracing it. A brand-new “Short videos for you” row lands on the Home page this summer, starting with YouTube Shorts in the U.S. One click, and you’re into a personalised feed of snackable clips.
